Vibrant Story On And Off Court

Angel Reese’s debut signature sneaker with Reebok is evolving again, this time in its boldest and most expressive colorway yet, just in time for spring. The latest version, known as the Angel Reese 1 “Unapologetically Angel,” extends her off-court persona and on-court dominance into a design that feels as confident and unapologetic as the WNBA star herself.
The shoe’s nickname mirrors Reese’s weekly podcast, also titled “Unapologetically Angel,” underscoring how closely this sneaker is tied to her voice and brand beyond basketball. It positions the model not just as another performance shoe, but as a wearable extension of her story, attitude and growing media presence.
Visually, this Angel Reese 1 arrives in an Atomic Aqua and Dream Purple palette that reads far more vivid than the technical color description suggests. The colors serve less as subtle accents and more as the foundation of a striking, spring-ready statement, signaling a move away from safer, more traditional basketball palettes.
The most eye-catching element is the molded TPU structure cage, which carries a swirling tie-dye treatment in pastel tones. That cage becomes the canvas for a mix of blues, greens and purples, creating a fluid, almost watercolor effect that feels playful yet deliberate.
Crucially, the tie-dye effect stays confined to the TPU cage, allowing the rest of the shoe to maintain a more balanced, controlled look. The upper and supporting panels work in lighter shades of the same color family, giving the sneaker depth and cohesion rather than visual chaos.
This new colorway builds on a shoe that already holds a significant place in Reebok’s basketball history. When the Angel Reese 1 hit retail in September 2025, it marked not only her first signature model, but also Reebok’s first signature basketball sneaker since John Wall’s Zig Escape released back in 2012.
From the outset, Reese framed the project as a chance to merge performance and personality in equal measure. In a press release around the original launch, she emphasized wanting a shoe that elevated performance, innovation, style and creative expression, insisting the design reflected who she is and encouraging others to “stand in their power” while still being “built for basketball.”
Since that initial drop, the Angel Reese 1 has appeared in multiple colorways, many of them tied directly to chapters of her life and career. The debut run included three launch looks: the pink “Mebounds,” the black-and-white “Receipts Ready” and the iridescent “Diamond Dust,” each offering a slightly different interpretation of her narrative.
Reebok has continued to expand the line with themed editions that speak to place, memory and occasion. Releases such as the Baltimore-inspired “Charm City” (also known as “Homecoming”) and the Valentine’s Day-timed “Mauve Reign” further rooted the shoe in Reese’s personal story and seasonal moments.
Against that backdrop, “Unapologetically Angel” reads as the most expressive, spring-forward entry so far. Where previous colorways flirted with boldness, this tie-dye iteration fully commits, leaning into color and pattern to mirror a player known for embracing attention rather than shying away from it.
The path to market for this version has already been a bit unconventional. The tie-dyed Angel Reese 1 briefly appeared early on Foot Locker’s e-commerce site, only to be pulled and rendered unavailable, turning what should have been a routine rollout into a quiet soft launch of sorts.
That early, fleeting availability has only added to the anticipation surrounding the sneaker. With pairs no longer accessible from that initial listing, fans are left waiting for the broader, official release, watching for any sign that the shoe is about to return.
An exact release date for “Unapologetically Angel” has not yet been announced, but the distribution plan is already taking shape. The style is expected to arrive soon via reebok.com and select retailers, positioning it as a widely available but still buzz-worthy drop.
Pricing keeps the sneaker in line with the rest of the Angel Reese 1 line, landing at $130 at retail. Reebok has also assigned the new colorway the style code 100262063, offering collectors and sneakerheads a precise way to track and reference this particular edition.
In the broader context of signature sneakers, this model represents a continuation of Reebok’s strategy to anchor product in authentic athlete storytelling rather than relying solely on legacy nostalgia. For Reese, “Unapologetically Angel” reinforces her presence not just as a rising basketball star, but as a cultural figure whose influence now extends into design, fashion and personal branding.
